Spirituality
My approach to spirituality is that each of us experiences the Divine through our own selves.
We can have a sense of divine energy in so many everyday ways such as human connection and kindness, the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, the awe and wonder of nature, or music, for example.
I believe in being open to receiving experiences of a spiritual nature, and really noticing how we feel. Becoming deeply aware of our inner world, listening and being present has been the key for me to discovering my inner divine self.
I believe that the intellect is a barrier to spirituality. You can’t get to God through the mind! Grounding into our bodies by engaging our senses in ritual practice brings us a strong opportunity to reconnect, to re-centre and it opens a doorway to sensing beyond the physical, mental and emotional to the spiritual.
In my experience, spiritual practice leads to awakenings and healing.
What is an awakening? When I experience an awakening a new sense of clarity comes upon me. I feel renewed in some way, as though I’ve just remembered myself. The absolute truth that I am loved and safe is all that I know, and everything I have previously understood is re-interpreted from this new place.
New epiphanies and awakenings, new states of peace and grace and being, are always available.
With spiritual practice comes increased self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love. These vibrations allow us to release old pain, trauma, wounding and grief.
My own spiritual journey has been entwined closely with personal healing. I believe that with spirituality comes healing, and with healing comes spirituality.
I believe that we, as human beings, are all spiritual beings. Embracing this aspect of ourselves can be incredibly satisfying and fulfilling.
I want to encourage all of us to discover our very own divinity!
I welcome you to find access to your spiritual home through sharing Honouring spiritual practice with me. You will experience many influences including shamanic, pagan, druid, buddhist, celtic mystical christian, hindu, goddess, new age, zen, angels and spirit guides.
Perhaps one of the biggest influences in my spiritual life is AMMA (Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi), who embodies the qualities of the Divine Mother. Read more click here. Amma is Hindu by birth but says that LOVE is her religion. She famously teaches that “we are all beads strung on the same thread of love”.
I have been attending Amma’s UK programme since 2006 where I experienced incredible synchronicity and healing. At the time I was in a world of pain and believed that nothing could help me. After three days meditating in the presence of Amma, I was no longer in that intense agony, and I could truly say that I had been touched by Grace.
Since that time my husband Mark and I have been practising Satsang (a Hindu style of spiritual service) at home and have attended Amma’s programme in the UK every year.
I want to encourage you to take the experiences of your life that have touched you and go deeper with them to find your spirituality. Perhaps you will discover new influences as well?
