Lammas 2022 - The First Harvest

At our Lammas event on August 3rd we gathered together to take time to remember that we are part of nature. We took some deep breaths and came into present awareness with ourselves.

We set the intention to embrace the divine feminine qualities of receiving, allowing and being, to step down into a place of connection, and to let go of all of our giving and doing.

Our cleansing ritual for this online event was the Singing Bowl.

We invoked the elements of earth, air, fire, water and spirit and our own sacred connections including ancestors, deities, angels, nature spirits or any beings or forces of pure light and goodness.

We acknowledged the traditions of the First Harvest which include cutting the first grain and baking the first loaf (loaf mass, “lammas”). 


 

We reflected on the imagery and symbolism of the season including the Green Man and the Grain Mother.

Especially powerful is the idea of the pregnant woman who carries the seeds of the future within her.

Our meditation was quiet and restful with the sound of water and connecting deeply to the feminine within us. We imagined the moon, the ocean and the creative power of Mother Universe herself.

We listened for intuitive messages and we also received an oracle card from the deck.

Emergence at Beltane 2023

  We began our honouring with sage smudging. We burnt the fragrant sage and received the cleansing smoke around us whilst chanting quietly.   Next, we brought ourselves into present awareness with the breath and by engaging our senses. We took in the sights of the images and seasonal decorations on the altars. Then we turned to taste ( a sundried sultana), and we each chose a meditation stone to hold. We listened to the sounds of birdsong, and paid attention to the scent (lemongrass, juniper, ylang ylang).   We took some deep breaths together, relaxed our bodies and re-connected with ourselves. When we welcome ourselves and our beautiful bodies into the sacred space we feel instantly more calm. We acknowledged this time of honouring we give to ourselves, and embraced the intention to feel compassion and absolute kindness.
